O Al Nassr sagrou-se campeão da Arábia Saudita na última temporada e com isso conquistou vaga na Champions League da Ásia (AFC), que dá ao campeão o direito de disputar o Mundial de Cubes da FIFA.

Da equipe campeã na temporada passada fizeram parte o centroavante Elton Brandão (hoje no Flamengo), o atacante Everton (revelado pelo Barueri em 2004 e atualmente no Shangai Shenxin, da China), o meia Rafael Bastos (ex-Bahia e Cruzeiro, hoje atua pelo Levski Sofia-BUL), o treinador uruguaio Daniel Carreño (comandou o time entre 2012 e 2014) e sua comissão técnica. Todos os estrangeiros sofreram com a inadimplência dos sauditas e atualmente acionam o clube perante a FIFA.

O Al Nassr preferiu na presente temporada fazer novas contratações do que pagar os campeões da temporada passada. A inadimplência também se verifica com os novos contratados, como na transferência do atacante Hernane “Brocador”, sendo que o Clube de Regatas do Flamengo também busca na FIFA receber seus direitos.

Diante da gestão temerária dos sauditas, os credores (Elton Brandão, Everton, Rafael Bastos, Daniel Carreño e sua comissão técnica, mais o Clube de Regatas do Flamengo), através de seus advogados, fizeram uma petição conjunta enviada à FIFA, entidade máxima do futebol, à AFC (Asian Football Confederation) e Federação Saudita de Futebol, requerendo diversas sanções ao clube, entre elas a proibição de novas contratações, a exclusão da equipe do AFC Champions League e, em caso de qualificação, a exclusão do Mundial de Clubes da FIFA, pois ficou evidente a ofensa dos regulamentos que norteiam o futebol mundial, entre eles o fair play financeiro.

Ainda não há data para definição sobre as punições, porém são grandes as chances do Al Nassr ser penalizado e eliminado da AFC Champions League que inicia em 2015 e do Mundial de Clubes FIFA 2015 em caso de classificação. Por outro lado, os advogados estão confiantes no recebimento, pois sabem que o príncipe proprietário do Al Nassr possui recursos financeiros para arcar com os débitos e pagará as dívidas para não ser banido de competições internacionais.

Given the reckless management of the Saudis, the lenders (Elton Brandão, Everton, Rafael Bastos, Daniel Carreño and his coaching staff, plus the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo), through their lawyers, have sent a joint petition to FIFA, the governing body of football, the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) and Saudi Football Federation, requiring several penalties to the club, including a ban on new hiring, the exclusion of the team from AFC Champions League and, if qualifying, exclusion of FIFA Clubs World Cup, as it was evident the offense of regulations that govern world football, including the financial fair play.

There's still no date for setting about punishment, but chances are that Al Nassr be penalized and eliminated from AFC Champions League which starts in 2015 and FIFA Clubs World Cup 2015 in the case of classification. On the other hand, lawyers are confident in receiving, because they know that the Prince that owns Al Nassr has the financial resources to pay for the debts and will pay off to not be banned from international competitions.
